Dr. Thadshika Parthipan

OD BSc MCOptom

Dr. Parthipan received her Optometry and Visual Science degree from City University, London, UK, in 2006, after which she practiced as an optometrist in England. During this time, she was recognized for her clinical excellence, earning the prestigious Opticians Magazine Award for Best Clinical Skills Practice.

She underwent extensive specialized training in binocular vision and pediatric care at Central Middlesex Hospital, UK, where she worked alongside optometrists and ophthalmologists, further refining her expertise in these areas.

In 2010, Dr. Parthipan relocated to Guelph, Ontario, and completed her Canadian training at the University of Waterloo. With comprehensive experience in all areas of optometry, she is dedicated to providing high-quality care and is accepting new patients of all ages. Dr. Parthipan established her practice in Rockwood, Ontario, in early 2011, followed by the opening of her Guelph practice the next year.

Dr. Parthipan is a member of the College of Optometrist and The Ontario Association of Optometrist.

She is also on the Board of Directors in East Wellington Family Health Team.

Dr. Shalini Vettivelu

OD BSc MCOptom

Dr. Shalini Vettivelu was raised in Guelph, Ontario. She earned her Honours Science Degree in Genetics, followed by her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo. She completed an Ocular Disease & Therapeutics externship in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the Montgomery Veterans Hospital where she managed glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and ocular emergencies.

Dr.Vettivelu is passionate about providing her patients with gold standard eye care. She also volunteers her time to provide free eye exams to impoverished communities and to individuals at risk of experiencing homelessness.

When she’s not in the office, you can find her chasing after her two energetic young boys, who keep her days full of adventure and laughter. Dr. Vettivelu enjoys unwinding with a good true crime documentary or an episode of Law & Order: the thrill of solving a mystery never gets old for her.

Dr. Vettivelu’s commitment to eye health and community service drives everything she does.

Tricia Dorscht

Office Coordinator

Tricia is the office co-ordinator for Rockwood. She has been part of the practice since the opening of the clinic in 2011 and loves her job.

She is responsible for greeting and registering patients, answering phone calls, arranging appointments, billing and numerous other administrative duties for both Rockwood and Guelph locations. Tricia has over 30 years of experience in office administration. She believes in trying her best to make your visit with our clinic a positive and pleasant experience.
If you have any requests or concerns, she is always ready to listen to you and help you if she can or guide you to the appropriate team member that can best assist you in a timely manner.

Her favourite past-time is spending time with family.
Her hobbies include reading, cooking, gardening and shopping.
She truly believes that a smile and a kind word can change someone’s day. 

Stephanie Sims

Office Coordinator

Stephanie is the office Coordinator for the Guelph office. She is responsible for welcoming and registering patients, answering phone calls, booking appointments, billing and other office duties. She is proud to have called Guelph her home as this is where she was born and raised.

When not working, she enjoys travelling and spending time at the cottage with her family. She will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you have.

Rachel Dobson

Licenced Optician

Was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a Honours Degree in Biological Sciences. She also graduated from the Optician Program at Seneca College in Toronto. Rachel has been in the optical industry since 2006 and is now a licenced Optician. In our office, she is responsible for pre-testing needs, frame selection, contact lens teach, lens fabrication, repairs, and frame adjustments. Her favourite part of the job is helping each patient find their perfect pair of glasses or sunglasses.

Rachel is married with 3 children. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with family, watching movies, playing video games, and binge watching T.V. 

Jade Savage

Optometrist Assistant

Jade is a dedicated optometrist assistant who has a passion for glasses and eye health.

She expertly handles pretesting, guides patients through contact lens fittings, and assists with frame selection to find the perfect pair of glasses. With a keen eye for detail, she also does repairs and adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and vision.

When she’s not at work, she enjoys indulging in her favourite reality television shows, baking delicious treats, and exploring antique shops for hidden treasures!

Kelsey Woods

Optometrist Assistant

Kelsey is one of the optometry assistants in our Rockwood and Guelph offices. She’s responsible for pre-testing, booking appointments, sales and more. She moved to the area in 2016 to attend the University of Guelph while receiving a Bachelors of Applied Science, and has been happy to call it home since.

Kelsey is passionate in ensuring children have a fun and enjoyable experience while visiting our offices. In her free time she enjoys playing baseball and baking treats for her friends and family.
